Thomas Ostwald, Director of the Friedrich - Gerstacker - Museum made a tour of the United States along the route where Gerstaecker traveled in the 1830s.  Ostwald's wife, Dagmar accompanied him.  Scott Akridge, Bill Leach, Dewitt Yingling and others met with him along his their travel throughout White and Independence Counties.
